Veterinary Science
 

Veterinary Science prepares students to enter the field of veterinary medicine and the animal industry. Students will have the opportunity to assist practicing veterinarians with treatment procedures, prepare facilities and equipment for small animal surgery, administer nutritional diets for common small domesticated animals, maintain and interpret animal health records, perform laboratory tests on small animals and assist with veterinary office and hospital administration.

Certifications, College Credit:

Students may earn 1 to 3 credit hours of Intro to Veterinary Science through UC Raymond Walters College of Veterinary Medicine and up to 20 hours of work experience credit toward a degree.

Internships & Job Placement:

Seniors are eligible for early job placement in the second half of the school year. The criteria for placement include instructor recommendation, grade point average and attendance.
