Jon Tudor, a 2008 graduate from Little Miami in the Information Technology Tech Prep satellite program, says he’s “doing great” in his freshman year at Miami University, Oxford. He checked in recently from the alumni email update. Here is what he had to say:
“I've been keeping really busy but having lots of fun, too. I have a 3.75 GPA, am a Management Information Systems major in the Richard T. Farmer school of business, and am a business honors student. I'm involved in a lot of things on campus. I'm an executive board member (Vice President of Communications) of Miami Business Consulting, a business organization on campus that does free consulting work for businesses of any type.”

He continues his update: “Relating specifically to the IT skills I picked up in Mr. Brinkman's class (Satellite WCCC IT program at Little Miami High School), I was able to talk to the head of the Management Information Systems department at Miami University and he began sending me information about various companies coming to campus to look at prospective employees or interns. After talking to some representatives, I was offered an internship with General Electric at their Evendale facility. It's called the Information Management Leadership Program. I will be leading and working on projects in the IT sector for GE. Also of note, I competed in the Miami Business Consulting challenge earlier this year, where my team had to create a business plan in a week for a fake movie rental company. The strategy created employed an online movie rental strategy and used a lot of the information learned in IT from high school. I also wrote about data trade policies and systems for my first major business research project, directly related to what I learned in IT again.”
