Alumni Return to Honor Employer

TriHealth, a network of hospitals that includes Bethesda Arrow Springs, Bethesda North and Good Samaritan, were honored as Warren County Career Center’s May 2009 Employer of the Month. Many students who complete the medical programs in WCCC’s Adult Education have been hired at TriHealth locations. TriHealth also provides internship experiences for WCCC high school students and externships for WCCC adult students. Bonnie Sheedy, RN, Director of Emergency Services at Bethesda North and Arrow Springs, attended a lunch at WCCC recently and accepted the award. “We appreciate Warren County Career Center’s work and all the great students they turn out,” Ms. Sheedy said.

Also attending the lunch were two former WCCC students, now employed at TriHealth. Ethan Balser, Cincinnati, said he needed to find a new career path when business slowed down at his previous job. Jennifer Salas, Maineville, was working in a job with no chance for advancement. Both enrolled in the Medical Billing and Coding program at WCCC in fall 2006. In less than a year, both students finished the program and within the year, were employed at TriHealth as outpatient coders.

“We are proud of Ethan and Jennifer,” Tom Harris, WCCC Adult Education Director, said. “They are two examples of the many excellent students we have here in our adult education programs.”

The lunch was prepared and served by WCCC Culinary Technology students.
