FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

During these first days of 2012, I want to wish you a Happy New Year and I hope that the New Year brings you a promise of joy, renewal and success.

As I reflect back on all we achieved in 2011, I am reminded of the tremendous gains we have made again in our quest to help each of our high school and adult students become all they are capable of being. I am also reminded of the tremendous dedication all members of our school community give each and every day to help our students achieve at levels they did not believe were possible.

Last year, we served over 2,000 high school students and over 13,000 adult students with Career-Technical Education that impacted their achievements in the workplace and prepared them to go on for further education. We are proud of our many students who achieve great things in life and in their careers and help to make this community, and this country, great.

Over  the winter break I read a short story entitled the Richest Man In Town by V.J. Smith, an inspirational story about  the impact that one individual can have on multiple people. The lessons Marty, the main character, taught were as follows:

Relationships matter most in life
Try to do a little more
Only you can make you happy

In this time of great hope and promise – think of yourself as Marty, the difference maker-seeing the best in people, making the most of the time we have in life and achieving what others might think is impossible.

I want to assure you I will continue to work hard to fully support our staff as we work together to create new opportunities and success for our students.

I hope you have a great 2012!!!
