Heavy Equipment and Site Construction
Congratulations, you are about to venture down the highway of the largest industry in the state of Ohio.  CONSTRUCTION.  You are looking at one of the highest-paying careers in the construction industry, Heavy Equipment Operation.  Being a heavy equipment operator opens many doors to advancement and where you take this career is almost unlimited. 

Warren County Career Center’s Heavy Equipment Operation and Site Construction program offers a 600-hour course, utilizing the NCCER curriculum, the only Nationally Recognized Certificate in the industry. The last 80 hours will be an externship with an area contractor. You will train on 10 different pieces of new Caterpillar equipment, and be instructed in blueprints, grade checking equipment, GPS equipment (survey and machine operation), safety, and  preventive maintenance.

Enrollment is going on now for the April 6, 2010 class. 

Highly trained, qualified workers are in demand for the Heavy Equipment Operation occupation.  According to the U. S. Department of Labor forecast, this occupation will grow at a rate of 13% to 15% per year through 2014.  This does not take into account the 6.5 million workers (baby boomers) that are going to retire in the next five years. According to the same agency, the salary ranges from $15.00 to $22.16 per hour.

The Warren County Career Center’s Heavy Equipment Operation and Site Construction program is recognized by local contractors as being the best training facility in Southwest Ohio, not just with the best machines, but with a combined instructor experience of over 85 years of heavy equipment operation.

WCCC has teamed up with Clark State Community College to offer Truck Driving training through its Commercial Transportation Training Center and also with Southern State Community College to offer Truck Driving training though its Truck Driving Academy.
