Multi-Skilled Medical Technician
The Multiskilled Technician program is designed to meet the needs of the healthcare delivery system by preparing students with cross-training in more than one skill. In addition to core courses, students will gain specialized training as a Basic Emergency Medical Technician, State Tested Nursing Assistant, EKG Technician and Phlebotomy Technician. State Tested Nursing Assistant
 
STNA classes start monthly at WCCC. Take this first step into the field of medicine in this 75-hour course which prepares you for the State of Ohio Certification Exam. Tuition is $680. Potential students must successfully complete the WorkKeys Assessment testing prior to registration.  Call us for the next start date, 513-932-8145!

Medical Assisting
Graduates are prepared to work in a physician’s office, clinic, hospital or other medical facility. Learn office management, computer billing, in-office clinical procedures, patient care, and much more. Internship experience is part of the program. Students complete the 900 clock-hour curriculum by taking evening and/or Saturday classes. In order to be eligible for financial aid, students must register for the full 900 clock-hour program.

Medical Billing/Coding
Students are equipped for entry-level coding jobs in a clinical, hospital, or office setting. Along with medical coding, students learn keyboarding and computer skills, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and more. Includes an internship. Students complete the 720 clock-hour curriculum by taking evening and/or Saturday classes. In order to be eligible for financial aid, students must register for the full 720 clock-hour program.

Multiskilled Technician   SOUTH CAMPUS
Students interested in pursuing a career as a health technician will need to be prepared to enter an increasingly more complex career field.  The Multiskilled Technician program is designed to meet the ever changing needs of the healthcare delivery system by preparing students with cross-training in more than one healthcare skill.  In addition to general education and health technology core courses, students will get specialized training as a Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B), State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), EKG Technician (CET) and Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).  Students will be required to complete a 100-hour internship (without pay).  In order to be eligible for financial aid, students must register for the full 720 clock-hour program.

Pharmacy Technician  ON-LINE PROGRAM
Pharmacy Technicians help licensed Pharmacists provide medication and other health care products to patients.  Pharmacy technicians are now required by the state of Ohio to complete an approved training program and meet certification requirements.  Through the nationally recognized PassAssured online course and training program, students are given the skills and knowledge to enable them to qualify for entry-level positions in pharmacies as well as prepare for national certification as a CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician).  In addition to the on-line program, are required to attend class on-site 3 hours a week during the 10 week course then complete a 100-hour internship (without pay) upon course work completion.  PassAssured uses Windows based technology to deliver its training.  Computers are available at WCCC for students that do not have computer access.

Internships

An internship is an integral part of the curriculum for every Health Career program. Internships for our students are arranged in various community medical settings to help students gain practical experience in a professional environment.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Students enrolling in the medical programs are required to pass a Work Keys exam.
