Automotive Technology Tech Prep students learn everything from brake repair to motor tune-ups, and other major repairs such as front-end alignment, engine testing, transmission repair, and engine overhaul. Students also learn to troubleshoot computer controlled automotive systems, and learn cost estimation, rebuilding, and replacing of automotive parts.

Certifications/College credit:
Automotive Technology Tech Prep has articulation agreements with Ferris State University for up to 16 college credits, Nashville Auto-Diesel College, and Northwestern College for up to 18 college credits. The program is certified by the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation, commonly known as Automotive Service Excellence, ASE. Internships and job placement Seniors may be eligible for early job placement in the second half of the school year. Criteria for placement include instructor recommendation, grade point average and attendance.
